Activities and Achievements

In our first two years we have:-

• Run two projects for our local primary schools; one on "healthy living" and one a "local environment" theme.
• Helped run two festivals in Coronation Park.
• Persuaded Marks and Spencer, and Network Rail, to tidy up land in their ownership.
• Successfully lobbied the County Council to introduce new parking and waiting restrictions near to Edge Hill University.
• Successfully lobbied the Borough Council to refuse planning permission for a development by Edge Hill University in the green belt.
• Produced and distributed Ormskirk's first ever Town Guide.
• Worked with the County Council to make changes to parking restrictions in an area south of the town centre that benefit both residents and visitors.
• Worked with the Police, Borough Council, and University to address anti-social behaviour in the town centre.
• Organised four public meetings at which outside speakers addressed issues of concern to local people.
• Produced and distributed newsletters containing information about our activities and local events
